Located in the carefully restored Glencoe Mill Village, built in the1800s, Textile Heritage Museum offers visitors a glimpse at life in a Piedmont mill town, with historical demonstrations of various weaving and dying techniques along with exhibits of numerous textile machines, such as an 1830 floor loom and a circular knitting machine. Visitors are invited to tour the museum, housed in the Glencoe Mill office and company store, as well as explore this remarkably preserved mill town, complete with 32 restored houses, the original mill complex, an old barber shop and numerous other historically intact buildings. The museum and village are located just outside Burlington, 11 miles northeast of Alamance Battleground State Historic Site.
